Spring 2009
The 2009 Airwalk team is a dominating force made up of some of the best riders in the industry. Continuing to represent the brand on the surf side are SoCal rippers Anastasia Ashley and Warren Metcalfe. Holding it down for the skaters are Dew Tour faves Andy Macdonald and Rodney Jones as well as newly added street skater Tulio Oliveira from Brazil. Airwalk is making a comeback back in the snow scene with the addition of shredders Erich Dummer and Olympic silver medalist Lindsey Jacobellis. Welcome to the Airwalk team Tulio, Erich and Lindsey… looking forward to a great year!

It was 1993 when the Airwalk Desert Boot first launched and 1995 when it was retired to the vaults. At the request of Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, Airwalk has broken the mold on the Airwalk Desert Boot once again in 2009. Yauch, a huge fan of the Desert Boot, was down to his last pair and brought his request for more straight to us. We happily got the boot back in production and we’re releasing it in very limited quantities.
The Airwalk Desert Boot is not hitting retail but Airwalk is hosting the “Breaking The Mold” event in NYC on January 27th to celebrate the re-launch. Hotel Rivington, Dewars, 42 Below Vodka and The Sound of Art are all helping Airwalk celebrate this great reintroduction.
Stay tuned for more old school styles relaunching in our 2009 Breaking the Mold series.
