Our friends at Woodward did it once again! Today is the grand opening of the new winter action sports training facility @ Copper Mountain in Colorado.
Woodward at Copper, the first action sports training facility dedicated to Terrain Park and Pipe progression, is opening it’s doors to the public this Saturday, February 28, 2009. Woodward at Copper – a collaboration between Copper and Camp Woodward – will offer Winter Camp Days, Drop-In Sessions and One Hit Wonder intro courses beginning March 1. Woodward at Copper will also offer week-long Summer Camps where campers will enjoy The Barn and Catalyst Terrain Park – the summer edition. The Woodward at Copper Barn is a 20,000 square foot indoor training facility, where campers will have access to Snowflex® ramps, foam pits, trampolines, spring floors and indoor skateboard features.
WINTER CAMP DAYS – Introductory rate $199, Season Passholder price $159
Woodward at Copper Launch Schedule – Sat., Feb. 28:
Noon, 2 p.m. & 8 p.m. – One Hit Wonder Sessions will be offered at 50% off the regular price – a 90-minute introductory course designed to familiarize and help guests become comfortable with the trampolines, foam pits, spring floors and Snowflex® ramps in The Barn.
Noon to 10 p.m. – Free skateboarding sessions in The Barn
4 – 8 p.m. – Celebrate Woodward at Copper Launch with a Party, including staff demonstrations and exhibitions on all the equipment, ski and snowboard movies, a DJ, music, food, drinks and much more.
7 p.m. – Fireworks show at the Barn

Woodward at Copper Summer Camp Information
Woodward at Copper will offer week-long Summer Camps in 2009. During their stay, campers will spend time training in The Barn and in Copper’s Catalyst Terrain Park – the summer edition. Campers will stay in Copper’s EDGE building close to The Barn and the mountain. The EDGE includes a dining facility and common area for activities.

A Woodward at Copper Camp Day begins at 8:30 am and is a fully coached session continuing through 3:30 that afternoon. The Woodward at Copper Camp Day will use both the indoor features in The Barn as well as Coppers on-mountain park and pipe features in order to apply the lessons and techniques learned inside the facility to the real thing the snow. Winter Camp Days are offered to those 8 yrs and older who are comfortable riding or skiing in intermediate terrain or higher.
Campers will receive customized coaching suited to their goals for the day. Guests who have a credential for the Camp Day are invited to attend the 6:00-7:45 pm Drop-In Session as well as The Cage, to spend time on the video editing bays and shred the indoor skatebowl. The $199 price includes lift ticket and lunch.
Guests who complete a Woodward at Copper Camp Day are not required to complete a One Hit Wonder session to fulfill the requirements for a Drop-In session. The Camp Day can be a single day or be purchased in consecutive day sets (multiday discounts apply).
Camp Days are offered Friday through Monday only. Sorry, no camp days Tuesday through Thursday.
The ONE HIT WONDER – Introductory rate $69
The One Hit Wonder is a 90-minute introductory course to familiarize and help you become comfortable with the trampolines, foam pits and other apparatus in The Barn its all about making this your Woodward at Copper experience, so we want you to be as comfortable as possible. The One Hit Wonder is available to anyone 8 yrs and up. The One Hit Wonder is required for any participant who would like to participate in a Drop-In session.
One Hit Wonder will be offered daily from 4:00pm – 5:45pm and from 12:00pm to 1:45pm Tuesdays through Thursdays.
DROP-IN SESSIONS – Price per session $25, 5-session punch pass $100
Drop-In Sessions last just under 2 hours and are a time when skiers and riders can use The Barn to work on individual skills and focus their training on the trampolines, jumps, and rails or use the gym mats for stretching and tumbling. Guests will not have designated coaches during the drop-in sessions, but all apparatus in The Barn will be supervised. Drop-In Sessions are open to anyone 8 yrs and up.
Drop-In Sessions will be offered from Drop-In Sessions will be offered from 4:00PM 5:45PM, 6:00-7:45 PM, and 8:00-9:45 PM daily, and from 12:00PM-1:45PM Tuesdays through Thursdays.
The WOODWARD AT COPPER SEASON PASS UPGRADE – Introductory rate $100
Save $94 when you purchase a Woodward at Copper season pass upgrade as it includes both a One Hit Wonder class and a 5 Drop-In Session pass and is available to skiers and riders with a Copper or Winter Park season pass, Rocky Mountain Super Pass, Plus Pass or a Rocky Mountain Ultimate Pass.
SKATE ONLY SESSIONS – Introductory Rate $10
Skate only sessions offer unlimited access to the 6’-8’ skate bowl and 4’ mini-ramp from 4pm to 10pm Friday through Monday and from 12pm to 10 pm Tuesdays through Thursdays.
SKATE ONLY SEASON PASS – $75
Unlimited access to SKATE ONLY SESSIONS until the April 19, 2009.

CLOTHING AND GEAR
Alright, pay attention on this one. We want you to get the most out of Woodward at Copper, so heres what you need to bring.
On the Snow Proper winter attire and equipment is required, wear lots of layers and prepare for winter conditions. Woodward at Copper will not provide rental snowboards or skis.
In the Barn Proper gym clothing is recommended for the gymnastics area that includes the trampolines and tumbling floors. When campers are inside the snowflex zone, all skin must be covered by clothing or outerwear.
On your Head All Woodward at Copper participants, in The Barn and on the snow, will be required to wear helmets.
Elbow and Knee Pads All participants under the age of 18 will be required to wear elbow and knee pads when using any of The Barns skateboarding features. There will be no pad requirements for the gymnastics based area, snowflex zone, or on the snow.
